General Accident Insurance Company Jamaica Limited, the Jamaica-based insurance company said gross written premiums in the second-quarter ending in June increased 6.2% to J$3.44 billion from J$3.24 billion a year earlier.
Net profit in the quarter increased 5% from a year ago to J$187.2 million or 18 cents per share compared to J$177.7 million or 17 cents per share.
Jamaica Producers Group Limited, the Jamaica-based banana distributor reported gross profit in the second-quarter ending on June 28 soared 30% to J$2.39 billion from J$1.83 billion a year earlier.
Net income in the quarter rose 4.4% from a year ago to J$80.3 million or 55.43 cents per share compared to J$76.9 million or 39.06 cents per share.
Seprod Limited, the Jamaica-based print media company reported revenue in the second-quarter ending in June surged 12.8% to J$4.06 billion from J$3.60 billion in the same year last year.
Net profit in the quarter climbed 19.2% from a year ago to J$341.9 million or 58 cents per share compared to J$286.9 million or 61 cents per share.
Trinidad Cement Limited, the Trinidad-based cement producer reported revenue in the second-quarter ending in June rose 9.4% to TT$560 million from TT$512 million in the same quarter last year.
Net profit in the quarter tumbled 66.2% from a year ago to TT$19 million or 7.6 cents per share compared to TT$56.2 million or 18.8 cents per share.
LIME formerly Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited, the Jamaica-based internet, mobile, and entertainment provider said revenue in the first-quarter ending June jumped 10% to J$4.81 billion from J$4.35 billion a year ago.
Net loss in the year narrowed from a year ago to J$712 million or 4.2 cents a share compared to J$804 million or 4.8 cents a share.
