PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands: In a poolside setting at The Somerset, members of the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA), along with Times Publications Ltd. and the Turks and Caicos Tourist Board, celebrated the launch of the third edition of Destination Turks & Caicos Islands 2008.
This visually appealing book once again features striking photography and vivid prose presented in an eye-catching format that displays the best of what Turks & Caicos has to offer. New this year is the fact that guests are being encouraged to take a copy of the book home with them as a keepsake.
This year’s edition details 36 distinct accommodations, ranging from small hotels to large resorts and condominiums and provides helpful descriptions and key contact details on 85 allied businesses. Following the directory are chapters on TCI history, culture and nature, all described in engaging detail, giving readers an appetizing taste of the depth and breadth of the destination. The island hopping chapter introduces readers to the distinct and charming qualities of each island in the Turks & Caicos chain while the sections on activities, shopping, dining, weddings, real estate and business complete the picture, providing a comprehensive and engaging view of the wide range of services and activities available to visitors. “Destination Turks & Caicos Islands has become more than just a useful resource to guests – it’s a history book in the making. As Turks & Caicos rises in popularity among international travelers, this book documents - in visual appeal - the progress, unique charm and wide diversity we offer as a destination,” said Caesar Campbell, CEO, Turks & Caicos Hotel & Tourism Association. “I’m always amazed and delighted with how photogenic the Islands are. Year after year, our local photographers are able to capture and display compelling images of life in the Turks & Caicos, which is part of what makes this book so exciting,” said Kathy Borsuk, Times Publications Managing Editor. Claire Parrish, Times Publications Advertising Manager, said: “Everyone involved in the process of producing this book, including our valued advertisers, care greatly that it is a quality publication representative of the Turks & Caicos Islands – it really is a labour of love”. |
