I have worked in both small and large teams located in different locations, where communication is an idea more complex process. However, I assure you that I will do my best and make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for all of us. One thing I want to ask you at the beginning is to contact me without any worries about issues that concern you or you want us to discuss something. When it comes to deadlines and meeting them, I want to share that this is something extremely important for me not only at work but for my whole life. I like to plan everything on time and always have a plan of action in case of a delay. That is why, for me, regular meetings are a high priority to monitor progress and discuss both progress and any obstacles that could delay the project. I would like you to be completely open with me in the presence of a problem so that we can solve it in time, and whatever depends on me and I can do, I assure you that I will do my best.

I would be happy for you to tell me if it is a practice to have regular 1: 1 meeting and I would be happy to hear your opinion on the subject. I think that such is not superfluous and would even help for a more friendly and positive atmosphere. Of course, my role in the team is to manage and control all aspects of the project, so it would be useful for me to have as much information as possible about its progress and possible problems and communications in the development process. Last but not least, I would like to discuss some things about the previous colleague who was in this position. The situation is delicate for you and I understand it, but I could not afford to form an opinion about a person and processes in which I was not involved. I can’t stand on someone’s side and I certainly wouldn’t do it since I don’t have complete information and my point of view on what happened. Let’s look ahead and try to always learn from every positive and negative situation, and I assure you that I would not allow there to be situations in which someone feels guilty about something they are not. We are a team and we take responsibility together for both the good things we have achieved and our mistakes and failures. We try to minimize the latter and to communicate everything openly and on time with, of course, professionalism.

Apart from being informative, the reason for this meeting is also to build a cohesive and effective team that will achieve success. I understand that you have had difficult moments and broken relationships, but it is time to fix and forget this because it will not be useful for us, the organization or our customers. I am sure that everyone here is intelligent, sensible, and creative people, ready to work hard on their tasks and maintain good communication with each other. Everyone knows that when I have good relationships and communication in a team, the result is always positive.
